Pre-order the vinyl edition
We always imagined that The Sorry Window would exist on vinyl, and we want to see if we can justify pressing a short run of LPs to coincide with the digital release. For this reason, we’re running a pre-order campaign a bit differently to what you may be accustomed to...
The Sorry Window — Vinyl edition
£22.99
Edition of 100 (minimum) on clear/translucent vinyl
How does it work?
If we exceed our target of £1350 (which is about 60 pre-orders) by 15th May 2026, then the vinyl release will go ahead, BUT if we don’t meet our target, then the vinyl version will be cancelled and everyone who has pre-ordered it will be refunded.
All who pre-order the album on vinyl will also be able to download the digital version of the album upon release (even if the physical release doesn’t end up going ahead).

Things you may be wondering about...
Why aren’t you doing a normal physical release?
The last five years have presented their fair share of logistical and personal curveballs for the band. Whilst we've been fortunate enough to record a lot of new material during this time, practically it's proved challenging to create the conditions where approaching a label feels like the right thing to do in order to release it. So for this album, we wanted to find a way of releasing it independently that makes sense for where we're at now.
We've been able to fund the recording of The Sorry Window through the ongoing support of our fans, via merch orders, gigs, downloads and previous releases, and we have a (modest) budget in place for the album's release. What we don't know yet is whether there's genuine demand for a vinyl edition.
Pressing vinyl is expensive, takes up a lot of space and is not something we want to do speculatively. This campaign allows us to make a considered decision about a vinyl run based on real demand, rather than pressing copies that might end up sitting in storage indefinitely - along with the financial and environmental burden that comes with that.
If the demand is there, we'll be thrilled to make the vinyl happen. If it isn't, the album will still be released digitally as planned, and anyone who has pre-ordered the vinyl edition will be fully refunded. Either way, the record is coming out - this is just about figuring out whether a physical edition makes sense.
How much does the vinyl cost and how do I buy it?
The vinyl version of the album costs £22.99, plus postage. By pre-ordering the vinyl version album through Bandcamp your purchase will be counted towards this pre-order campaign, minus various bandcamp fees (which work out at about 10%).
Has the album been mastered for vinyl and will it sound good?
Yes - it’s been mastered for vinyl by Kevin Tuffy (a Grammy award winning mastering engineer) at Tuff Mastering in Berlin and sounds really good.
The album features 11 tracks, including one interlude. It’s has been produced and mixed by Luke Pickering with additional production by Jen, and was mostly recorded by Jen and Josh (with contributions from Chris) over 2021 - 2025 between The Church Studios in London and various spaces in Manchester.

What sort of vinyl will I receive?
We’re very keen to not cut corners with the vinyl version of this release - hence running this campaign to provide us with a decent budget for it.
The LPs will be 12-inch, standard-weight records pressed on uncoloured (clear) vinyl. The final appearance may range from fully transparent to slightly translucent depending on the pressing.
Each record will come in a matte varnished outer sleeve with printed inner sleeves, and will include a download card.
The artwork has been designed by Jen and has been created alongside the album’s writing and recording process.
Why aren’t you doing this through something like Kickstarter?
We’ve thought about it, but ultimately it didn’t feel right for this release.
Bandcamp has been our main home for selling music and merch for over a decade, and keeping everything in one familiar place makes things simpler, both for us and for anyone wanting to support the record. There’s less friction, fewer accounts to manage, and it means people know exactly where to go.
Another reason is flexibility. We want to be able to respond to how the release unfolds in real time, whether that’s expanding the vinyl run, adding merch, or adapting plans based on what people are actually engaging with. Running things through Bandcamp allows us to do that, whereas a platform like Kickstarter requires everything to be locked in from the outset. Finally, if the vinyl target is reached early, being able to move straight into production helps reduce delays and uncertainty. It also means we’re not tying up band funds unnecessarily while waiting for a campaign to finish, which gives us more room to support the album in practical ways as it’s released.
Overall, this approach lets us release the record in a way that’s more responsive, straightforward, and sustainable for a DIY band in our current situation.
How long will it take for me to get my vinyl?
If we reach our target, at the point when the album goes to press, we believe it should take around 8 - 10 weeks for your order to be fulfilled. It will then be posted with Royal Mail, with exact arrival time dependent on your location.
Given that at time of campaign launch, it is around 12 weeks to the album’s release date, at time of writing - it’s currently theoretically possible it could be pressed and fulfilled in order to be available on the date of release, but it’s also possible it could take longer.
If by some weird miracle the campaign is funded within the first few weeks, we’ll do our best to fulfill vinyl orders so that they are with you in time for the release date.
We are currently basing our timelines on the lead times that the vinyl pressing plants that we are looking into using have communicated to us. However, it’s possible lead times could change during the course of the production process due to unknown factors (which if we can pre-empt, could lead us to switch to another pressing plant). We’ll be continuing to monitor the production time situation ahead of moving ahead with the pressing, and will do our best to keep everyone who has pre-ordered up to date with this process and timeline as it evolves.
Tl;dr - The earliest you can recieve your vinyl is around the time of the album release date (May 1st), and the latest is mid-July (assuming there are no delays that occur that are outside of our control).
How many copies of the album will be pressed?
Our target of £1350 / 60 pre-orders will allow us to press an order of 100 LPs (assuming a unit cost of £13.50 per unit).
However, as the per-unit cost lowers depending on the size of the vinyl order, if we can justify pressing more then we may end up doing so. Seeing the initial response to this campaign will hopefully give us a good sense of demand and we'll report back with the final number if / when we meet our target.
We know part of the appeal of supporting an independent release is that the pressing remains genuinely limited. While final numbers will depend on demand, it’s very unlikely this run will exceed 200 copies.
Can you keep me up to date with progress?
Yes - you can check this page to get an idea of how close we are to achieving our goal (it doesn’t update automatically but we’ll be posting updates periodically). By purchasing a copy you’ll automatically recieve updates about your order, and will have the option to be added to our mailing list where we’ll be sending out updates every so often. Additionally we’ll be posting updates on our social networks about it too.
Successful or not, once the campaign ends we’re aiming to do a bit of a ‘debrief’, so you can see all the gory details, or where exactly your money went (if successful).
This is all taking too long — can I get a refund?
Before we’ve reached our target:
Yes. If you change your mind before we move ahead with pressing the records, just get in touch via email or Bandcamp message and we’ll cancel your order and refund you.
Once / if we reach our target:
At this point, vinyl orders are committed so that we can move forward with pressing and fulfilment. Change-of-mind cancellations won’t usually be possible after this stage, but our standard merch refund policy still applies - for example in cases of faults, damage, or issues with delivery.
If we haven’t reached our target by 15th May 2026:
All vinyl pre-orders will be cancelled automatically and you’ll receive a full refund. It may take a few days for the money to return to your account. If you’ve already downloaded the digital album by that point, you’ll be able to keep it — as a thank-you for your support.
(We’ve even looked into what would happen if Bandcamp went bust and disappeared from the internet - in this scenario we’d still be able to manually refund everyone that had paid for a copy, so it will all be ok)
I’ve changed my address since I ordered the vinyl— can I update it?
Let us know via email, or bandcamp message and we’ll get your details updated and vinyl (if / when ready) sent out to your new address.
I live outside of the UK, how much will postage cost?
Postage is charged separately from the vinyl and varies by country. Shipping costs are calculated automatically in the Bandcamp checkout.
International shipping — particularly to the US — is more expensive due to import tariffs and postage rates. (If any American labels want to work with us on a future release then please get in touch!).
I don’t want to buy the vinyl, but is there another way of helping the release to go ahead?
The digital release is definitely going ahead and by pre-ordering the digital version of the album through bandcamp, you’ll still be contributing to the band and helping us massively, especially when you compare the cost of a download to the amount that we earn per stream from streaming services.
We will be putting a portion of the amount made from any digital sales of the album that we recieve from Bandcamp towards the vinyl campaign, after various fees have been factored in.
Sharing anything to do with the band, album, or our music goes a long way to helping create momentum. So if you want to help in a way that isn’t contributing money, sharing is a great way of doing it and is much appriciated.
Is there going to be a CD / tape / floppy disk version?
We have no plans to release the album on other formats at the moment.
Can I come to a gig and buy the record there?
The short term answer is no - We don’t have any gigs in the calendar right now as we’re going through a similar process of gauging demand before making live plans. Hypothetically - if we do end up being able to justify a tour or other dates following the release of the album, and the vinyl release has gone ahead and is in-hand, then it would be available to purchase in person.
